Dutch baby
Serves 4-8. (Or, just me…)
Ingredients
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
vanilla
nutmeg
pinch of salt
2 Tbsp Butter
Heat oven to 425 degrees.
While the oven is heating, add 2 tablespoons of butter to the baking dish you chose. I like using a pie dish, but any casserole dish will work. Let the butter brown while you mix the batter.
Combine all ingredients into a blender. I prefer fresh grated nutmeg. Blend together until smooth and frothy.
Carefully remove pan from the oven and pour in the batter. (This is technically a double batch, so you could split between two pie plates.)
Top with a fruit topping if desired. My family go-to is fresh sliced pears.
Bake for 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
Serving
We like to sprinkle with powdered sugar.
